Leisure Activities

According to the weather we offer our guests a wide range of leisure activities:

Rannoch Moor - walking - cycling - by train

Rannoch Moor is the largest Scottish moor. Experience the fascination of this unique landscape. At TAB we provide rambler's maps and information about cycle paths. Go on a bicycle tour through Rannoch Moor or around Loch Rannoch (bike rental at TAB).

We recommend to explore Rannoch Moor by train. Whether you go the long route to Fort William or Mallaig or whether you get off the train at the first station for a walk around Loch Ossian: you will be fascinated by the beauty of the landscape at every time.

Excursions

Visit one of the numerous castles or whisky distilleries nearby. We also recommend a day out at Pitlochry, Aberfeldy and Dunkeld.

For garden-lovers we recommend to visit one of the manifold gardens, for example the gardens of Scone Palace in Perth, the gardens of Blair Castle in Blair Atholl, Cluny Gardens at Strathtay or one of the many gardens in Perth.

Lochs nearby: Loch Ness, Loch Tay, Loch Lomond, Loch Laggan, Loch Katrine, Loch Duich etc.

You find gift shops, kilt makers or musical instruments makers in the towns nearby.

For your evening programme we suggest a visit at the theatre in Pitlochry.

Highland Games take place everywhere in Scotland throughout the summer. The most famous event of this kind is the Royal Highland Gathering in Braemar (beginning of September).

Activities with children

At TAB we provide a swing for children, a large meadow for ball games and a landing stage. Close to TAB there are a lot of flat sandy beaches which are suitable for children.

Spend a day out at a game park or go on a boat trip (e.g. with a steam ship on Loch Katrine). Visit the sheep show at Aberfoyle and learn everything about the sheep and goats of Scotland.
